I was born in 1977 and I know exactly what you mean! I have a stepdaughter that is almost 14 and she told me that the feeling that if a child breaks or is no longer the "tricks", then you must use:

I think it has something to do with sex. Black means that you can do is nothing, pink for BJ, the blue of the extension, etc. I'm not sure what the correct colors and associations, but you know what I mean.
